Synergy's training classes are for the student who is interested in taking their training to the next level. These classes are designed for students who would like to work towards Competitions and/or exams. Each year dancers from this level are considered for the Performance Troupe Teams. Our Training Classes are fast-paced, up to date and more advanced.
Sport aerobics, or aerobic gymnastics, is a competitive sport originating from traditional aerobics in which complex, high-intensity movement patterns and elements of varying difficulty are performed to music. In addition to aerobics,it combines elements of sports acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics, along with music, dance and choreography. Our recreational Sport Aerobics classes will focus on techniques, skills, fitness, coordination, flexibility, strength and high energy FUN!
Synergy's Acro Dance syllabus is designed to promote beginner to advanced tumbling and Acrobatic skills in a fun, safe and professional environment.
Classes are divided with students being placed into appropriate ability levels within each class allowing for individual progression throughout the programme. Tumbling classes will cover various skills in the areas of flexibility, strength, leaps and jumps.
We have 4 classes consisting of Acro Dance 1, Acro Dance 2, Acro Dance 3 and Acro Dance 4. After the student has been assessed, they will then be placed into a class/level in which suits them.
Students relate to current music therefore this class is choreographed to the freshest chart music. Hip Hop is a street style dance feel constantly evolving, it is a free, funky and soulful expression of movement used by artists such as Beyonce, Kayne West, Justin Timberlake, Neo, Flo Rida and Rhianna.
You will learn some Hip Hop steps as well as some popping and locking and how to integrate these moves in a New Skool choreography.
Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials. People enjoy watching jazz dancers, as the dancing is fun and energetic.
Jazz dancing is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Every jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. This type of dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace, balance and technique.
Ballet is a beautiful style of dance, and is a crucial aspect of training for all dancers. Ballet is the basic foundation for most forms of dance. Whatever you learn in ballet, it translates to values that can be used to pursue other forms of dance. Not all of us will be Prima Ballerinas, but everyone can enjoy Ballet and gain many benefits from it.

Tap is an incredibly fun and “noisy” style of dance.
Tap students wear shoes with special metal tap plates on the bottom.
Tapping is full of great rhythmic patterns and teaches children incredible coordination and a great sense of music and rhythm. We use the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus for examinations.
Lyrical/Contemporary Dance is a style which blends both ballet and jazz dance styles together. Lyrical is generally smoother and a bit faster than ballet, but not quite as fast as jazz. Contemporary is more angular and sharp movements. A lyrical/contemporary dancer uses movement to express strong emotions such as love, joy and anger.
